Import format properties

On the Import job properties(meaning: import format properties) tab, which is present when you have selected a new or existing import format for a data source in an application in the Application browser, you specify the import format that must be available for the current data source. When import formats have been specified for a data source, a Style Sheet drop-down will become visible underneath the Format drop-down in the Import dialog in Collections, from which the desired custom import format stylesheet can be selected, as soon as you select an XML type (grouped or unstructured) in the mentioned Format drop-down for which an import format was indeed set up.

In the right-click pop-up menu for a data source in a pbk, simply select New > Import job (meaning import format) to add a new import format.

Click here for information on how to edit properties in general. And click here to read about how to manage objects in the tree view in the Application browser. On the current tab you'll find the following settings:

XML type

Indicate here which XML type is expected by the stylesheet(s): Grouped or Unstructured. Click here for more information about the differences between the two formats.

Stylesheet

This option allows you to set an XSLT stylesheet to be used as an import format. XSLT stylesheets are UTF-8 encoded text files with the extension .xsl or .xslt. XSLT 3.0 and earlier versions are supported.
Tip: a paid-for XSLT stylesheet for import of EODEM (Exhibition Object Data Exchange Model) exchange files can be ordered from Axiell. The registration of third-party objects for loans and exhibitions is greatly simplified when participating parties support the generation and import of data via the EODEM.
